GTEN Services

Apart from offering our GTEN ministry training program, GTEN.church also offers various services to assist churches and church networks to be more effective in ministry training. Some of the services include teacher training, and curriculum consultancy.

1. GTEN Teacher Training

We are committed to training teachers to improve how they teach. For this, a teacher's training manual called the Shikshak Manual has been developed. We offer teaching workshops to help teachers broaden their understanding of biblical education. They learn how to focus on learning inside and outside the classroom. Teachers are also oriented in using active learning, through discussions, games, stories, and even drama.

Using the Shikshak Manual, we offer teaching workshops to various networks over three stages.

Teaching Workshop - Stage 1: In the first stage of teacher training, teachers are exposed to the basics of biblical education. Along with this, practical advice on how to teach in a classroom, mentor, and supervise ministry. Teachers are also trained on issues related to assessment and reporting. All this is done through examples from the first three courses of the GTEN ministry training program. This training aims to help prospective teachers start a training cohort in their local churches.

Teaching Workshop - Stage 2: The second stage of training is to encourage the teachers and prepare them to teach the remaining courses of the year. Here, issues related to education and teaching are only briefly addressed. More important is the focus on how students are using this material in the church, and whether they are able to apply the lessons beyond the classroom in mentoring and ministry. This training is also the opportunity to identify any issues or gaps that may have emerged.

Teaching Workshop - Stage 3: The third stage of training is at the final assessment stage. As teachers complete the final courses of the year, training is offered to help these teachers to report their faithfulness-based assessments accurately. This is also a time to see how the teacher's themselves have progressed through the year of teaching.

2. GTEN Curriculum Consultancy

Some church networks already have their own theological education programs. GTEN.church has been helping various church networks to improve their training by sharing our examples and also offering guides to improve theirs. We offer guidance on how to create biblical and relevant curriculum using indigenous resources. We also offer consultancy on adapting content to make it more suitable for emerging church needs. Such services have been offered in various parts of India, Nepal, Turkey, and other countries.
